Players, clubs and leagues across Swiss sport are joining forces to support StreamSafe and raise awareness about the risks and consequences of illegal streaming.
Players from the Swiss Super League and National League, together with their clubs and the leagues themselves, are supporting the StreamSafe initiative alongside other leagues, rights holders and media companies.
The campaign will be visible far beyond the player videos. It will appear, among others, in Super League and National League stadiums, across the programming and platforms of participating rights holders, as well as in selected cinemas and media outlets. The alliance members will also spread the campaign through their own digital and social-media channels.
A risk for fans — and for sport
The initiative brings together different parts of the Swiss and European sports and entertainment ecosystem around a common message: illegal streaming is not a harmless shortcut. It can expose users to risks such as fraud, phishing and misuse of personal data. At the same time, the money paid for illegal streaming services does not support the clubs, leagues and sport behind the content — it flows into criminal networks and helps finance organised crime. Every illegal subscription therefore takes potential revenue away from the Swiss sports ecosystem and puts it into the hands of criminals. Europol has documented major criminal investigations involving illegal IPTV operations and organised criminal networks.
From the players on the pitch and ice to the fans watching at home, and from clubs, leagues and broadcasters to rights holders and media partners behind the scenes, everyone has a role to play. Choosing legal and safe ways to watch helps protect fans, support the sport they love and keep the sports and entertainment ecosystem sustainable.
Choose legal. Choose safe. Streamsafe.
